labor[day] weekend...

thank god its finally here!

labor day weekend is this weekend.  and that means everything crazy and hectic in my life will FINALLY start to wind down.  i will be able to see my husband, my family, my friends, my pets!  i will have free time! just in time for everything to get hectic again as we start to prepare for BABY BELLA's arrival in just TEN WEEKS!!

ten weeks.  i can hardly believe it.  for the past three months ive hardly had time to think about anything, including the arrival of baby bella.  i mean, she's growing inside of me, how could i NOT be thinking about it?! but i mean REALLY thinking about it and letting it sink in.  i am having a BABY! i am going to be a mom.  mike and i are going to be parents...for the rest of our lives.  its pretty heavy stuff.  and a little intimidating.  and probably the most exciting thing in my life to date.

im looking forward to taking the next few weeks a little easier now that the season is finally drawing to a close.  im sooo looking forward to working a little less and having some time to reconnect with everyone, to enjoy the rest of my pregnancy, and to DO A MILLION THINGS around my house. (nesting, anyone?!)

speaking of 'around the house' . . .
we are planning a huge "deep clean" of the house - you know, like spring cleaning, only, baby prep cleaning.  to make up for the fact that we havent scrubbed and scoured much of anything all summer - who has time? my mom is going to help me with that (and i am SO excited about that!) she's a great cleaner and i love that about her! (sidenote: in case you didnt know, i love to clean and i love for my house to BE clean, pregnant or not!  pinesol is my favorite smell.)

we have a huge load of stuff to take to the dump, some clothes for goodwill, some furniture to move, two dressers to paint, and a nursery to completely put together.

we got the green light from the landlords to paint, so we are going to paint the WHOLE house, hopefully in one fell swoop over a two or three day period (lucky me, the house isnt that big.)  ....and when i say we, i mean mike, my mom, my sister, maybe my brothers, if they're feeling generous, plus a handful of lovely friends who have offered to help.  i cant imagine NOT being able to get it done in just a few days, to be honest.  we havent decided on colors yet (except bella's room - three white walls and one bright pink wall, with lots of fun decorations, including some of my photography!)

my mom is working on a BEAUTIFUL antique cradle that she bought and refinished/painted.  for some insane reason she's being super critical of it and "hates" it but its absolutely beautiful!!

personally, i LOVE it!

so, there's still a LOT to do, but it wont feel so daunting now that i'll be working less!

ive also got some art projects i would like to do between now and bella's arrival - i want to make some more earrings and maybe some bracelets and necklaces and try to sell them.  i have some images id like to have printed and framed - for the nursery and for the rest of the house.  not to mention a few (as in, as many as i can possibly do between now and the day i go into labor) photo shoots id like to get in - some "official" ones (with GPA) and some as practice or for fun on my own.

so, now that everything is FINALLY slowing down, its time to get busy!!
